This historical and magical evening will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022. Get involved with the event through a sponsorship or purchasing a Ball ticket.

The Junior League of Wyandotte & Johnson Counties is excited to announce our selection for this year’s emcee of the 72 annual Community Ball & Cotillion! Dani Welniak has been a tremendous voice in the Sports world in KC as a  former KCTV5 Sports Anchor. Today, she is the new Executive Director of Communications for the KC Current Women’s Soccer Team. Dani is a strong leader who has always taken risks and with hard work has found success in areas that have been traditionally male dominated fields.
She spent 6 years as the sports director for KCTV5 in Kansas City and host of The Locker Room Show for KSMO. She is a former professional football player, starring as receiver and running back for the Dallas Diamonds. During her playing days, Dani was named Rookie of the Year, team captain, three-time All-Pro, 2008 Women’s Super Bowl champion and a member of the first women’s national team in 2010.

She covered the Royals’ run to the World Series in 2014 and 2015, the Chiefs Super Bowls in 2020 and 2021, and KU basketball’s National Championship in 2022.
