JLWJC members volunteered at Johnson County Christmas Bureau. Helping make the holidays brighter by assisting their clients is such a wonderful opportunity to reach out to our community!

In 2012, over 45 CASA stockings overflowed with happiness for some very special children.

Community Outreach Experience

Whether passing out child safety information to parents, or helping to fill shopping carts with needed Christmas items, JLWJC members adamantly care about our community and take a hands on approach to serving its needs. Through our Community Outreach Experience (CORE), we focus on short term community projects that are completed in a single day or weekend. 

In the past year, JLWJC members have staffed over 20 volunteer shifts for the following organizations:

• Sunflower House Circle of Friends Breakfast
• Sunflower House Anniversary Celebration
• Sunflower House Pumpkin Palooza
• Deanna Rose Farm Haunted Hallow
• Sunflower House Gala
• CASA Christmas Party
• Johnson County Christmas Bureau
• Turn Styles-Catholic Charities ( 2 events)
• Tiny Tim Gala
• Shawnee Mission Women’s Speaking of Health Conference

We have also collected donations for the following groups:

• Grace House
• Happy Bottoms
• CASA Christmas Stockings *45 CASA Stockings
• Duchesne Clinic
• Sunflower House
• Catholic Charities Refuge
• CASA Back to School Drive

In previous years, we have also worked with Harvesters, Children's Mercy Hospital, Wyandotte County Back to School Fair, and the Lee Ann Briton Infant Development Center.
